Eion is a pioneering climate tech company specializing in Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW)—a natural process where silicate minerals like olivine, basalt, and wallastonite are extracted from quarries, transported, and applied to agricultural crop fields to permanently capture atmospheric CO2 ; and generate high-permanence carbon credits. To issue verified credits, Eion needed a precise way to calculate the true Net Atmospheric Impact across every step of their supply chain.
Our agency partnered with Eion as an end-to-end product engine. We designed, architected, and built their full-stack Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Carbon Calculator Web Application, backed by scalable AWS cloud infrastructure. We also designed and launched Eion’s main marketing website. The web application tracks every lifecycle emission—from quarry extraction to farm application—culculating a definitive metric known as Carbon Removal Efficiency (CRE).

Building a true Life Cycle Assessment platform meant overcoming complex data mapping and geographic calculation hurdles:
The Multi-Modal Routing API Engine:
Tracking supply chain emissions required mapping complex transport legs. A single batch of mineral might travel via truck from quarry to port, load onto a river barge, transfer to an ocean freighter, and finish via rail or truck to the farm.
We needed to construct an API capable of stitching together maritime shipping lines, river ports, and Google Maps road navigation data.
Each leg required calculating distinct fuel consumption rates and carbon emission factors per ton-mile based on the selected mode of transport.
Dynamic Mineral Chemistry & Oxides: Different silicate minerals (Olivine, Trap Rock, Basalt, Wollastonite) possess varying carbon-sequestering potentials based on their oxide composition MgO, CaO, P, K. The system needed to let users configure custom mineral profiles or compute potential directly from raw oxide lab data to derive the Calcium Carbonate Equivalent (CCE).
Global Operations & Project Management: The platform needed to scale across multiple global quarries, processing hubs, and active application fields while presenting high-level executives with real-time operations maps, lifetime removal totals, and verification success rates.

We engineered a responsive React front end backed by a serverless AWS microservices architecture utilizing Amazon DynamoDB for low-latency, flexible database operations.
Multi-Modal Transport Builder: (Users can visually map routes, set waypoints, assign distinct transportation modes (Truck, Rail, Barge, Vessel) per leg, and immediately preview the carbon cost of each transport stage.
Mineral & Extraction LCA Engine: Calculates operational quarry emissions (diesel vs. grid electricity by region, e.g., WECC) and system loss percentages.
Live Operations Dashboard: Displays global quarry maps, active project pipelines (Development, Live, Monitored, Verified), net CDR stacked charts, and total applied acreage tracking.
